Page 2 of 2  Electrical equipment should not be left switched on overnight, unless designated to be permanently connected (e.g. fridges, etc.).  Ensure electrical equipment is correctly connected. Do not use electrical equipment which has not been safety checked or has failed a safety check (failed equipment must be disposed of as soon as possible).  Do not store combustible or flammable material in corridors and entrance areas.  Do not block exit routes.  Report all hazards and faults to the Asset Manager. 5. IN THE EVENT OF A BOMB SCARE: 5.1 Evacuate the building using the nearest available exit. Staff should familiarise themselves with the location of fire exits around the building and the assembly point. 5.2 Call the Emergency Services on 999 or 112 and give instructions clearly. This MUST be done from a mobile phone once you have left the building. 6. IN THE EVENT OF A SUSPECT PACKAGE DELIVERED TO THE ORGANISATION: 6.1 Advise the Chief Executive or nominee immediately. 6.2 Segregate the item without taking unnecessary risks. 6.3 See advice as appropriate if necessary evacuate the building using the nearest available exit. Staff should familiarise themselves with the location of fire exits around the building and the assembly point. 6.4 Call the Emergency Services on 999 or 112 and give instructions clearly. IN THE EVENT OF A SECURITY ISSUE (VIOLENCE / THREATENING BEHAVIOUR): 7.1 Call for assistance from a colleague if you cannot leave the situation safely. 7.2 Call the Emergency Services on 999 or 112 and give details of the event and ask for assistance.
