Foreword by the Chief Executive Health and Safety is of vital importance in any workplace, even more so given the activities in which WATMOS is involved. WATMOS’ Health and Safety General Policy Statement underlines the commitment to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the safety of WATMOS’ employees. This policy demonstrates the duty of care owed by WATMOS to its employees to provide services in a way which will not put them at risk. This general policy statement underlines WATMOS’ recognition of the importance of health and safety and is an acknowledgement of the organisation’s health and safety responsibilities in law. WATMOS is committed to facilitating the achievement of the highest professional standards and a healthy and safe workplace for all employees. The purpose of this document is to bring to the attention of all employees WATMOS’ General Policy statement in respect of health, safety and welfare. The cornerstone of WATMOS’ policy in this area is the development of a positive health and safety culture which will only be achieved by the co-operation, commitment and consultation of everyone.
